Krista Haggerty
Occupational Therapist
Hi! My name is Krista! I was born and raised in rural Alberta and am a University of Alberta graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy.
I am a compassionate and client-centered occupational therapist who supports individuals in enhancing their independence, well-being, and quality of life. I brings extensive experience in both physical and mental health, working with clients across the lifespan to address challenges related to daily functioning, mobility, and emotional wellness.
Krista has a significant experience in mental health, including anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, and emotional regulation. I support clients in developing practical coping strategies, building routines, managing stress, and re-engaging in meaningful activities. I also work with individuals who are neurodivergent or living with trauma histories, tailoring my approach to each person's unique strengths and needs.
In addition, I have special interest in concussion management and physical medicine, using evidence-informed strategies to support recovery, manage symptoms, and promote safe return to activity and daily roles. My approach integrates physical rehabilitation with cognitive and emotional support to address the full impact of concussion and physical injury.
My broader practice includes chronic pain and fatigue management, injury recovery, and functional assessments, with an emphasis on adapting environments and routines to foster greater independence. I am also trained in acupuncture, which I integrate as a complementary approach to reduce pain, anxiety, and tension.
Clients can expect a respectful, collaborative, and goal-oriented approach grounded in evidence-based practice—and a genuine commitment to supporting what matters most in their lives.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active through fitness, mountain biking, hiking and recharging with my family and dogs. I values balance, connection, and meaningful occupation—both personally and professionally.
