SEBASTIAN AKL

Physiotherapist

Hi my name is Sebastian!

I completed my Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. During my time at UBC, I gained invaluable experience with many local organizations including UBC Recreation, Special Olympics BC, and ICORD’s PARC Program. PARC researches the impacts of exercise in the spinal cord injury population. My passions for healthy living and exercise are what motivated me to pursue physiotherapy.

My treatment-style incorporates an active therapeutic approach for patients through hands-on manual therapy, rehabilitative exercise, soft tissue techniques, IMS/ Functional Dry Needling, goal setting, and education. My previous work experiences fostered a special interest in foot, ankle, Achilles, and ACL rehab as well as running assessment and injury. I also have a personal interest in cycling and triathlon rehab.

I moved to Edmonton from Vancouver and am excited to start a new adventure in Alberta. I am a die-hard Canucks fan and always love discussing the latest hockey news. Outside of work you can find me running or cycling on the trails (of course stopping and petting every dog I see), training for my next triathlon, walking my dog, and sampling every coffee shop Edmonton has to offer.
